WEB3 × COMMERCIAL DESIGN

Design incentives around the behaviour your business needs.

An incentive can bring someone into an ecosystem. Its long-term value depends on the behaviour it encourages and the business that has to sustain it.

Choose the behaviour before the reward.

Start with the contribution the ecosystem needs: useful product activity, a qualified referral, liquidity that serves a real purpose or repeat participation. Define what quality looks like before choosing a points mechanism, token allocation or reward amount. Otherwise the programme can optimise for the easiest action to collect.

Connect incentives to the customer journey.

Rewards, referrals and memberships belong inside a broader experience. The user still needs to understand the product, reach its value and have a reason to return. Match incentives to the stage of that journey, and consider how rules, eligibility and communication affect trust and participation.

Examine the economics after the campaign.

Review what happens as promotional support changes. Look at repeat behaviour, abuse exposure, reward costs and commercial contribution together. A programme should create useful learning about the business as well as short-term activity. Its success cannot be read from participation alone.
